JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience. Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located. 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm. Experience with data center or network infrastructure.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with energy/renewable energy and other technical infrastructure agreements. Experience reviewing, drafting and partnering commercial agreements for the build, procurement and operation of technical infrastructure related projects. Ability to manage and execute numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure. Ability to be flexible and willing to work on a broad variety of matters from complex matters to the routine standard matters across. Excellent social skills and a commitment to professionalism and working with others.

About The Job

As a Corporate Counsel, you will focus on complex commercial transactions, to build, procure and operate the infrastructure used to enable Google to deliver its Internet services. This includes agreements and projects involving data center acquisitions and operations, energy procurement and renewable energy projects, colocation and dark fiber networks, globally.

You will perform legal analysis of non-standard issues or situations, complete complex legal assignments separately and advise Google stakeholders on legal options and risks (e.g., deployment of new infrastructure types in new jurisdictions). Based on an understanding of the broader legal and regulatory landscape, you will promote legal compliance, risk mitigation, and execution. You will assist with the continuous development of the team and its processes.

You will be collaborative, ready to partner in initiatives that influence all aspects of the business and work with Googlers from all over the company.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $239,000-$337,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Review, draft and discuss a range of commercial agreements support Google’s technical infrastructure procurement and operation. This includes agreements for network and capacity acquisition, data center operations, renewable energy and water procurement. Advice on projects and business initiatives to provide solution-oriented practical advice to facilitate infrastructure and energy projects. Respond promptly to legal requests from supervising lawyers, program managers, partners and executives. Coordinate across internal legal teams on a variety of matters related to technical infrastructure agreements and projects.
