Responsibilities The GCC provides CSSP responsibilities and conducts DODIN Operations and DCO - Internal Defensive Measures (IDM) to protect the DODIN in accordance with the DoDM 8530.01 and the DoD Cybersecurity Services Evaluator Scoring Metrics (ESM). These responsibilities include the five CSSP functions: Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Recover. The division supports the protection, monitoring, analysis, detection, and response to unauthorized activity within the DoD Information Systems and Networks, including both unclassified and classified networks. Services include defending against unauthorized activity on Army assets on NIPRNet and SIPRNet, providing defensive measures to protect information, computers, and networks from disruption, denial, degradation, or destruction. The division manages sensors, conducts event analysis, and responds to network and host-based events, including managing in-line NIPS/NIDS sensors monitoring all CONUS DoDIN-A traffic to detect outages and attempts to compromise network confidentiality, integrity, or availability. The division collaborates with GCC Operations to initiate defensive security procedures upon attack detection, supports the government with CSSP services, and develops reports, TTPs, SOPs, EXSUMS, trip reports, and point papers. It also contributes to the preparation of agreements, policies, and guidance documents such as MOUs, SLAs, and other operational artifacts. Additional responsibilities include supporting Defensive Cyber Infrastructure (DCI) functions such as developing and distributing content from security vendors and in-house sources, consolidating data sources for threat assessment, maintaining dashboards, updating signatures and policies, and conducting all development and testing activities on isolated networks. Proper documentation, testing plans, and annual validations are required. Qualifications Minimum qualifications include: 8 years with BS/BA; 6 years with MS/MA; 3 years with PhD Certifications: CISSP, GCIA, GCLD, GDSA, GICSP, GSEC, ISSAP, or ISSEP Active TS/SCI Clearance Experience conducting vulnerability assessments and network monitoring Strong understanding of data transport, encryption, networking, IT systems, and cybersecurity fundamentals Peraton Overview Peraton is a national security company providing mission-critical solutions globally.
