About the role
The Finance Director, Americas plays a critical leadership role, driving financial strategy, operational excellence, and organizational performance across the Americas region. This position will lead all financial planning, budgeting, and control functions, while also overseeing key operational departments: Logistics, Distribution, Demand Planning, and IT.
Acting as a strategic business partner to the President of the Americas and other senior stakeholders, the Finance Director will provide financial insight, improve forecasting accuracy, ensure cost discipline, and support cross-functional alignment to meet ambitious growth goals. The role leads a high-performing team of six professionals and works closely with both global HQ and local operational leaders.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership
Partner with the President and leadership team to drive growth strategy and deliver on financial objectives.
Own full P&L management, regional budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for all business units across the Americas.
Serve as the primary financial liaison to Group HQ, delivering insights, variance analysis, and commentary on performance drivers.
Lead strategic planning processes including the annual budget, 3-year plan, and reforecasts.
Operations Oversight
Oversee and optimize Logistics, Distribution, and Demand Planning functions to ensure supply chain efficiency, cost control, and alignment with sales forecasts.
Collaborate with Sales & Marketing to support demand-driven inventory planning and product launches.
Monitor stock levels, working capital, and cash flow across the region; implement corrective actions where needed.
Coordinate local IT projects and drive improvements to IT processes.
Business Partnership & Decision Support
Provide real-time financial insight and analysis to Sales, Marketing, and Retail leaders for commercial initiatives, promotions, and boutique expansions.
Evaluate the financial viability of new projects, markets, and distribution models.
Act as a key thought partner in defining and tracking KPIs to support operational and financial goals.
Controls, Compliance, and Process Improvement
Drive a strong internal controls culture and ensure adherence to global finance policies and local compliance (including IFRS, tax, and legal matters).
Lead continuous improvement in finance and operational processes including Accounts Receivable, Payable, Purchase Orders, and Expense Management.
Manage outsourced providers for accounting, tax advisory, and sales administration.
Team Leadership
Manage and mentor a team of 6 finance and operations professionals.
Foster a high-performance culture with clear objectives, accountability, and professional development.
Qualifications and Experience
12+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, Controlling, or Finance leadership roles.
Proven track record in both finance and operations management, ideally within the luxury goods, fragrance, or consumer products industries.
Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams.
Experience managing teams and scaling regional operations.
Skills and Competencies
Strong leadership and communication skills with a collaborative and solutions-oriented mindset.
Excellent financial modeling, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred), Power BI, and financial planning tools.
Fluent in English; French proficiency strongly preferred due to frequent HQ interaction.
Well-organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field required.
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
SAP ERP or Power BI certification is a plus.
Additional Information
Role is based in Hoboken, NJ; must be available to work onsite at least 4 days per week.
