Summary:
We seek a high-performing Director of Sourcing with proven experience in OEM or Tier 1 automotive procurement. This role involves developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives, driving supplier performance, and optimizing costs and value across our global supply base. The ideal candidate works with urgency, thrives under pressure, and independently delivers results supporting operational and commercial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and implement strategic sourcing strategies for OEM components and manufacturing commodities globally, across direct and indirect sourcing groups.
Develop and manage supplier relationships focusing on performance, quality, cost, and innovation.
Drive RFQ execution, contract negotiations, and total cost of ownership analysis with urgency and independence.
Identify and realize cost savings through supply base consolidation, dual sourcing, and value engineering.
Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Operations on new product launches, cost reduction, and risk mitigation.
Serve as the procurement escalation point for OEM and Tier 1 customer programs.
Implement supplier performance KPIs, risk analysis, and business continuity plans.
Manage a cross-functional purchasing team and develop talent aligned with business needs.
Define sourcing strategies to mitigate tariffs and external risks, supporting future growth.
Promote a culture of service, support, ownership, and execution.
Lead and develop teams, guiding capabilities and growth.
Develop pipelines for future projects through cross-functional collaboration.
Support negotiations, contract execution, and training for direct material spend.
Implement and control cross-functional sourcing projects, with corporate communication and direction.
Analyze current spend to improve service, reduce costs, and streamline purchasing procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business (Master's preferred).
Minimum 10 years procurement experience in manufacturing.
At least 5 years in team leadership roles.
Successful track record in developing and executing sourcing strategies independently.
Ability to drive results with urgency and accountability, with minimal supervision.
Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of automotive cost structures.
Experience with MRP systems, EDI, and global supply networks.
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Experience managing multi-site, multicultural teams and supply bases in low-cost regions.
Excellent analytical skills with a structured problem-solving approach.
Bilingual skills in Spanish and English are a plus.
