We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader for a multi-dimensional role within our Premium Audit team. This position encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including leadership, operational excellence, and strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will have a direct reporting relationship with three to five leaders, driving operational results and fostering leadership and staff development. As a trusted advisor to the Head of Premium Audit and business leaders, you will play a crucial role in succession planning, talent attraction, development, and retention. You will also be responsible for developing and executing communication strategies, creating executive-level presentation materials, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
This position is a multi-dimensional role with responsibilities that include:
Leadership:
Direct reporting relationship of three to five leaders within Premium Audit – drive operational results, leadership & staff development.
Succession plan for the Head of Premium Audit.
Serves as a trusted advisor to the Head of Premium Audit and Business Leaders.
Attracts, develops, and retains high-performing talent, including but not limited to development, oversight, and implementation of countrywide talent and retention strategies.
Development and execution of Premium Audit operational communication strategy to drive effective messaging and change management across all staff.
Develop executive-level presentation materials that succinctly communicate results, operationally led continuous improvement initiatives, outcomes, corrective actions, and progress.
Operational Excellence:
Operational oversight of countrywide programs including Quality, Compliance, and Vendors Performance, including root cause analysis of opportunities, development of corrective action plans, implementation, and control plan monitoring.
Operational ownership of initiatives, including development, process oversight, and change management strategies. Examples include transformation through segmentation model refinement and Prem Audit Reimagined.
Operational ownership of work distribution, including leading WFM activities, productivity ramps, and staff models.
Strategic Excellence:
In partnership with the Head of Premium Audit, execution of the organization’s three-to-five-year transformational roadmap focused on rich data insights, operational scale, and digital experiences for customers.
Stakeholder management to ensure engagement and alignment with key business partners (UW, S&O, Product & HR).
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Minimum 10 years insurance experience with knowledge of Premium Audit preferred.
Experience managing diverse functional work teams.
Ability and desire to coach and mentor others.
Strong business acumen.
Prior organizational leadership experience preferred.
Strong partnership, influence skills, and excellent communication skills, both personally and organizationally.
Experience transforming organizations to drive value, including leadership, coaching, skill development, and agile process implementation.
Expertise in change management, CBA development, and control planning.
Experience leading learning teams for onboarding and upskilling during transformation.
Deep understanding of leveraging data/analytics to drive value.
Proven track record of building and optimizing high-performance teams.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is based on external market analysis. Actual pay may vary based on performance, proficiency, and competencies. The base pay is part of The Hartford’s total compensation, which may include bonuses, incentives, and recognition. The range for this role is:
$148,800 - $223,200
