WWF’s Work on Conservation Areas WWF focuses on two key areas: the Enduring Earth Partnership and the Protected and Conserved Areas Strategy. Enduring Earth Partnership This initiative is a collaboration of four institutions working with nations and communities to accelerate conservation efforts. Projects are collaboratively designed, locally led, sustainably funded, and highly accountable, aiming to inhibit nature’s decline and produce robust conservation outcomes globally. Protected and Conserved Areas Strategy This strategy emphasizes area-based conservation, supporting efforts to recognize and manage terrestrial, freshwater, and marine biodiversity areas. It aligns with biodiversity targets set by the CBD COP, aiming to formalize conservation areas that provide ecological representation and connectivity. WWF’s approach integrates landscape planning, protected areas management, climate adaptation, and conservation finance to secure nature’s benefits for people through inclusive and resilient systems.
