**Job Description: Med/Surg Telemetry Nurse**
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Med/Surg Telemetry Nurses to join our dynamic healthcare team. The Med/Surg Telemetry units provide comprehensive care for patients with medical, surgical, and telemetry needs. Our nursing staff is essential in delivering high-quality care to a diverse patient population, including those with GI issues, cardiac conditions, renal conditions, and patients experiencing confusion and altered mental status.
**Key Responsibilities:** - Provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced medical/surgical telemetry setting. - Monitor vital signs and telemetry data to identify changes in patients' conditions. - Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while ensuring patient safety. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. - Educate patients and families regarding health conditions, treatment plans, and ongoing care. - Maintain a holistic approach in managing the complexities of high-acuity patients.
**Unit Structure and Patient Ratios:** - Med 2: 24 beds, focusing on both Med/Surg and stroke care, specializing in the monitoring and support of stroke patients. - Med 3: 34 beds, serving as a general Med/Surg telemetry unit. - Nurse-to-patient ratio: Typically 6:1.
**Qualifications:** - Active nursing license (state-specific) required. - Strong foundation in med/surg nursing and telemetry monitoring. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. - Prior experience in a similar setting is preferred.
**Additional Requirements for Onboarding:** - Compliance with Bassett Core Competencies. - Completion of unit-specific exams and skills checklists. - Personal health history documentation, including vaccines and health screenings, will be required.
