About being our Environmental Biologist - Senior Project Manager This position would primarily support work generated by our Environmental Group, which can be based out of the

Santa Ana, Pasadena, or Los Angeles, CA

offices, but may also support other Psomas offices as needed. As a

Biologist - Senior Project Manager

in our

Resource Management team , this role will involve a mix of office work and fieldwork, depending on the individual's career interests. The

Senior Project Manager/Biologist

would be expected to perform project biological studies, prepare proposals, manage projects and budgets, oversee biological studies, report writing, resource agency consultation, and manage junior staff.

Responsibility Highlights for our Environmental Biologist - Senior Project Manager

Manage large/complex projects, coordinate activities, conduct/oversee biological studies, report writing, resource agency consultation, and other industry duties

Manage and prepare large-scale proposals, scopes of work, schedules, and budgets

Coordinate field studies, managing biological staff and subconsultants as needed

Coordinate with support staff (GIS, editing, word processing)

Prepare various reports (Biological Constraints Reports, Biological Technical Reports, CEQA documents, Focused Survey Reports, etc.)

Act as Senior Reviewer, QA/QC for technical work

Prepare invoices, approve subconsultant invoices, and track project financials

Attend meetings (in person and online), lead meetings as needed

Interact with clients, biological staff, subconsultants, resource agency personnel, and technical leads

Provide technical training and mentorship to junior biologists

Participate in professional organizations for technical expertise and business development

Seek out and win new business and develop client contacts

Participate in strategic planning

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Biology, Botany, Field Ecology, Wildlife, or a related field

Minimum of 10 years' experience as a Biologist

Prior project management experience in consulting or resource agencies

Specialist in biological resources of Southern California

Knowledge of species protocols, regulatory requirements, and processes

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in related fields

Extensive knowledge of survey guidelines, vegetation mapping, wildlife habitats in Southern California

Proficiency in GPS/GIS, Endangered Species Acts, Fish and Game Codes, NEPA/CEQA

Competitive salary: $115,000 - $163,000 (depending on experience)
