Senior Software Developer

Description The Software / DevSecOps Engineer is responsible for developing and testing software applications and DevSecOps frameworks to enhance efficiency, security, and scalability using the DevSecOps paradigm on cloud environments. The engineer oversees the deployment and optimization of the DevSecOps platform, ensuring it meets client needs while fostering a culture of continuous improvement through feedback and iterative development. This role involves active collaboration, leveraging diverse perspectives to design and implement effective solutions informed by organizational and client-specific challenges. Clearance : Current DoD Secret Clearance (adjudicated within the last 5 years) Duties and Responsibilities : Design and standardize application development using SAFe Agile and DevSecOps to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality across projects. Develop and implement standard operating policies and procedures for application development to guide teams and ensure adherence to best practices. Establish a DevSecOps platform to streamline development, security, and operations across cloud environments. Develop applications using container technologies. Lead and support Agile development efforts by establishing a secure software factory. Establish automated testing strategies, including security, functional, and unit testing using automated tools. Drive innovation in software development by advocating for new technologies, methodologies, and approaches to enhance organizational capabilities and efficiency. Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications and systems with logical and mathematical solutions. Collaborate with hardware and equipment designers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems. Analyze system capabilities to resolve problems related to program intent, output requirements, input data, and controls; prepare operating instructions; develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems to meet software standards. Requirements Basic Qualifications : The candidate must meet ALL of the following criteria: Degree (Bachelors, Masters, or PhD) from an accredited institution Major in or having majored in STEM fields Experience with Agile Methodology and CI/CD tools and practices Proficiency in C# or Java 2 to 5 years of experience in DevSecOps development, preferably closer to 5 years Experience working in a DevSecOps environment Experience with SAFe Agile Experience with Atlassian tools including JIRA Microservice development experience Some experience with automated testing Preferred Qualifications : GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher Experience with Scaled Agile Framework / Agile development Proficiency in C# and .NET Framework Experience with microservices and protocols like REST or AsyncAPI Knowledge of Object-Oriented Design and Design Patterns Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL and Liquibase Experience with scripting languages such as YAML, Python, PowerShell, Curl Experience with configuration management tools like Git, GitHub Experience with Atlassian tools: Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes Experience with Typescript, React, Java/.NET backend, Helm/Kubernetes deployment, CI/CD pipelines with security and quality gates Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills Team-oriented and quick learner with an agile mindset
