**Job Title: Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN)**
**Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift**
**Job Description:**
We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a dynamic healthcare facility. This position requires a dedicated professional who is proficient in managing critically ill patients in various settings, including the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in caring for a diverse patient population with conditions such as cardiovascular issues, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA), stroke, and sepsis.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients, ensuring their safety and comfort. - Float to ICU/IMCU units as needed, including surgical, medical, and neurosurgical cases. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans. - Monitor patients' vital signs and assess their conditions promptly to identify any changes. - Administer medications and execute therapeutic interventions as prescribed. - Support family members and significant others by providing education and emotional counseling. - Participate in hospital initiatives and contribute to quality improvement efforts.
**Requirements:**
- A minimum of 2 years of acute care experience in a large teaching facility. - Mandatory certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS (to be completed prior to start). CCRN certification is preferred. - Demonstrated experience with post-cardiac surgery, vascular, trauma-level 1, general surgery, and neurosurgery patients. - Recent EPIC experience (within the past 2 years) is required and non-negotiable. - Must be available to work during major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year's Day (minimum of 2 holidays required). - Ability to provide a complete work history, including bed count, EMR, facility type, etc.
**Important Information:**
- Reliable transportation is essential, as public transportation is not accessible in this area. - All vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires during winter months (November - April). - This position does not require floating as a mandatory requirement.
**Contract Type:** 16-32 Weeks **Guaranteed Hours:** 112 Contract Weeks
