Atlanta, Remote Description An exciting opportunity for an experienced Security Engineer to strengthen our client’s cybersecurity operations across IT and OT environments. This role is central to reducing cyber risks, responding to incidents, and ensuring compliance with security standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with Microsoft Defender, SIEM platforms, and IAM technologies, and will thrive in a collaborative environment where clear communication and cross-functional teamwork are critical. Responsibilities Monitor, analyze, and investigate security alerts and incidents, serving as a member of the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CIRT). Administer Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (Windows/macOS) and Microsoft Defender for Server P2 to ensure advanced protection. Manage and enforce identity and access management policies using Microsoft Entra and Active Directory. Operate and tune SIEM platforms to detect and respond to potential threats; experience with Exabeam SIEM is an asset. Maintain compliance with NERC CIP standards and apply best practices aligned with NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF). Partner with IT and OT teams to design and implement effective security controls. Communicate findings, risks, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Lead or support company-wide cybersecurity awareness and training programs. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 5 years working in Information Security, with a strong background in monitoring and incident response. Practical experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Server solutions. Hands-on experience working with SIEM technologies (Exabe am preferred). Familiarity with NERC CIP compliance and security operations in IT and OT environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience collaborating across technical and business teams. Proven experience as a member of a Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CIRT).
