Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Remediation Engineer to join our contaminated site assessment and remediation practices in our Oakland or Walnut Creek, California office. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability;
- Performing and managing contaminated site assessments, remedy evaluation, including preparing investigation work plans, design analysis and implementation of feasibility studies, treatability studies, removal action work plans, remedy design, and remedy implementation;
- Performing and managing pilot and bench-scale programs for soil, soil vapor, and groundwater technologies;
- Preparing remediation action plans for soil, soil vapor, and groundwater remediation projects including drawings, engineering analyses and calculations, and technical specifications;
- Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, and proposals.
- Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors;
- Manage work to meet contract schedules, appropriate codes and regulations, regulatory compliance and/or enforcement and industry standard-of-care criteria;
- Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties;
- Consistent with our sell-manage-do business model, play a role supporting lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring; and
- At times, job may also include fieldwork including multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering (required)
- Advanced degree in engineering. (preferred)
- Professional registration in California or ability to receive within one year. (i.e. P.E.). (preferred)
- At least 5 years (7+ years preferred) of direct environmental consulting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Knowledge of California regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation and vapor intrusion. (required)
- Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
- Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
- Knowledge of California’s geology. (preferred)
- Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
- Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
- Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required .
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
- Minimum Salary: $98,140/year / Maximum Salary: $147,275/year (Oakland, Walnut Creek)
