Lead Data Architect / Developer

Essential Functions/Responsibilities Support and maintain the existing SQL Server 2017 environment, ensuring data availability, performance, and reliability. Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions in Microsoft Azure, including Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse, and related services. Develop and optimize data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and integrations between systems. Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and data models for business intelligence and reporting. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions. Ensure data quality, security, and governance across platforms. Document data architecture, processes, and workflows. Monitor and troubleshoot data systems and integrations. Contribute to data platform migration strategies. Stay current with industry trends and Azure technologies. Understand, debug, and troubleshoot SQL, SQL Server databases, Python code, and APIs. Education and/or Experience Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field (Masters preferred). 7+ years in data engineering, development, or database administration. 3+ years with Microsoft Azure data services. Strong understanding of data modeling. Experience with SQL Server, performance tuning, stored procedures, and database design. Experience developing Power BI dashboards and data models. Development experience with T-SQL, Power BI, SSRS, SSIS, Python, and APIs. Hands-on with data integration tools and ETL/ELT pipelines. Supporting and modernizing legacy data systems. Familiarity with other database systems and cloud data governance practices. Experience working with cross-functional teams. Background in construction or property management is a plus. Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools like Azure DevOps. Skills/Specialized Knowledge Excellent communication and organizational skills. Understanding of data structures and design patterns. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple projects. Willingness to learn independently. Sense of urgency and ownership.
