Part Time Campus Store Sales Associate

Reporting to the Campus Stores Manager, provide retail sales, inventory and merchandise support and general assistance in the Campus Stores. This is a part-time position, approximately 20-25 hours per week on weekday afternoons and Saturdays.
Primary duties and Responsibilities
Staff the Campus Store during open hours to provide the highest quality customer service and support, processing transactions and assisting customers according to departmental expectations. Open and close the store, handling cash according to departmental procedures. Utilize point-of-sale software and hardware for customer transactions and merchandise accountability. Restock, organize and straighten store shelves and racks, ensuring fully stocked displays in a clean, neat and inviting fashion, and coordinate merchandise movement from different storage and display locations Assist with merchandise coding, tagging and pricing. Provide support for non-retail sales, including shipping of customer orders. Assist with annual physical inventory count and reconciliation Assist with planning and implementation to ensure the success of special events Other duties as assigned Job Specifications
Completion of 12th grade or equivalent 2+ years retail or customer service experience Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and thoroughness Basic computer skills, experience with Microsoft Excel, with interest and ability to enhance those skills Ability to interact effectively with students, employees, alumni, parents and other customers or guests in a positive and helpful manner Ability to work independently and as part of a team Enthusiasm for change and provision of innovative service Strong communication skills Close visual acuity to view a computer screen Ability to frequently stand for sustained periods of time Ability to sit, stoop, climb, kneel and reach Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects of up to 30 lbs
Working Conditions
The worker is mainly in an office/retail environment, and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
