Application Engineer
The Applications Engineer will be responsible for designing, modifying, and managing electrical schematics and motion/control systems for a wide range of fire fabrication machines. This will require the ability to design and draw electrical schematics as well as experience programming with Omron's Sysmac Studio Software. How You Will Help
The Applications Engineer will: Design motion and controls systems for automated fabrication equipment. Create PLC programs for automated fabrication equipment, as well as modify, maintain, and troubleshoot existing machine programs. Create and modify machine touchscreen user interfaces. Design and draw machine electrical schematics. Work with multi-disciplinary team to design new automated machines based on market demands. Make modifications to existing machine designs to optimize performance and manufacturability. Support projects through entire lifecycle design, prototype, test, and production. What You Will Bring
The Applications Engineer should have: Bachelor's degree in engineering (Preferred Electrical Engineering Degree). 3+ years of creating PLC programs Experience in 2D/3D modeling tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc. Excellent communication, coordination, and presentation skills for interface with coworkers, managers, and customers. 2+ years of experience using Sysmac Studio or the ability to learn quickly Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems and components. Ability to understand and apply motion system components including different types of actuators, motors, gearboxes based on system requirements. Ability to understand or learn and apply machine networking and communication protocols. Experience with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM for document management. Design mechanical parts and assemblies for automated machinery. Create, manage, and maintain part and assembly drawings. CE testing experience for sale of units in the European Union. Job Benefits
