DATTCO has an opening for a full-time Dispatcher at our School Bus location in South Windsor, CT. This position supports our contract with the Capital Region Education Council (CREC).
DATTCO is the largest private passenger transportation company in New England with 1,900 vehicles operating from over 30 locations. DATTCO is a third-generation, family-owned company, and we began providing school bus transportation in 1949. We currently service 30 school districts and Regional Education Service Centers throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island, transporting over 140,000 students annually. Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for scheduling drivers and effectively dispatching fixed route service and charters
Assist drivers with directions and customer itineraries
Answer routine phone calls from drivers and customers
Clerical, filing and reporting duties
Daily use of Outlook, Excel and Microsoft 365 suite
Daily use of mapping and scheduling programs such as Map Point, Google Maps, etc.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
2 + years- experience working in the transportation industry
2+ years- experience working in customer service
Strong oral and written communication skills
Work well in a fast-paced environment
A CDL Class B with P and S endorsements is preferred but not required.
