Amazon
Senior 3D Generalist, Devices & Services, Product Storytelling
Amazon, Seattle, Washington, us, 98127
Description
Amazon's Devices Design Group has launched iconic products like Echo, Fire TV, and Alexa. We're seeking a 3D Generalist specializing in Cinema 4D and Houdini - with strong skills in modeling, rigging, and materials - to help create 1:1 digital twins of Amazon products for use in product envisioning films and launch events. Maya experience is a plus but not required.
While the primary responsibility is preparing 3D assets for high-quality rendering and animation, this role offers broad creative opportunities for those looking to go beyond a narrow technical focus. In addition to preparing CAD models, candidates may also contribute to lighting, rendering, and animating shots - directly shaping the look and feel of cinematic motion design films.
The ideal candidate will also be highly skilled in leveraging AI tools and scripting to optimize and automate workflows. A strong technical mindset is essential - you'll constantly explore new ways to improve efficiency, enhance quality, and push creative possibilities through the use of emerging AI technologies and process automation.
In this role, you will work from high-fidelity CAD data to build photorealistic digital assets that match their physical counterparts in every detail. You'll optimize CAD files, model missing details from real-world reference, scan materials, and recreate them digitally to achieve realistic, high-quality renderings and animations. Your work will directly support cinematic motion design films, enabling both early product vision storytelling and final launch content.
Key job responsibilities
Create accurate, photorealistic 3D digital twins of Amazon products based on CAD data and real-world reference
Optimize, and prepare CAD models for rendering and animation

Set up rigs for product movement and functional demonstrations
Light, render, and animate shots as needed to support creative objectives
Apply AI tools and scripting to streamline workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and improve production efficiency
Collaborate with motion designers, VFX artists, and creative directors to integrate assets into cinematic storytelling
Ensure all models are optimized for both high-quality rendering and efficient workflow in Cinema 4D and Houdini
Basic Qualifications

Proficiency in Cinema 4D and Houdini
Skills in 3D modeling, rigging, and material creation
Experience preparing CAD data for rendering and animation

Portfolio demonstrating high-quality 3D product work
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building scalable local/offline pipelines for fast-turn creative teams
Background in CG/VFX production with industrial design or UX teams
Strong visual sensibility across 3D, motion, and narrative design
