The Opportunity
A Fortune 500 telecommunications company seeks a
Network Permitting Specialist
in Conshohocken, PA, Canonsburg PA or Columbia MD on a long-term, temporary basis for at least twelve months, possibly longer. The schedule is hybrid: Monday and Friday are WFH days; Tuesday through Thursday are in office. The hourly rate is up to $40 an hour, plus benefits.
Primary Duties
The
Network Permitting Specialist
will manage zoning, permitting, and entitlement processes for the installation of telecom infrastructure (e.g., poles, fiber networks). The role involves preparing applications, working with local governments, and ensuring compliance with municipal codes and federal telecom regulations. Additional duties include the following: Prepare and manage zoning and permit applications Understand federal wireless deployment legislation, including Sec. 6409(a). Coordinate with design teams for construction documents Track permit costs, manage billing and compliance Liaise with municipalities and represent the company at public hearings Ensure post-construction permit closeout Act as subject matter expert on local/state telecom regulations Support internal teams with legal and permitting guidance Understand and articulate federal wireless deployment legislation, including Sec. 6409(a) and FCC Orders. Requirements
Bachelor's in Business, Urban Planning, or related field (or equivalent experience) 2+ years in permitting, zoning, land use, or wireless industry Knowledge of telecom regulations, zoning codes, and site development Experience interpreting construction/legal documents Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Willingness to travel for municipal engagement The Partnership - Benefits
