OSP Drafter
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled OSP Drafter to support the design and documentation of outside plant telecommunications infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating accurate CAD drawings, maps, and schematics based on engineering specifications, field data, and industry standards. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the integrity and efficiency of fiber optic and copper network deployments. Key Responsibilities
Draft and update OSP network designs using AutoCAD, MicroStation, or GIS-based platforms Interpret engineering notes, field survey data, and redlines to produce construction-ready drawings Create and maintain documentation for fiber routes, conduit systems, pole attachments, and splice locations Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field technicians to ensure design accuracy and feasibility Maintain drawing standards and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations Assist in preparing permit drawings and documentation for utility and municipal approvals Perform quality checks on drafted plans to ensure completeness and accuracy Update and archive project files and drawing databases Qualifications
Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field 1+ years of experience in OSP drafting or telecommunications design preferred Proficiency in AutoCAD, GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS), and Microsoft Office Suite Familiarity with OSP construction practices, fiber optic networks, and utility infrastructure Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, utility maps, and construction drawings Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
