A. BASIC PURPOSEThe position is responsible for ensuring the care, safety and wellbeing of shelter participants residing at the Depot Family Crisis Center.

B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Oversee daily operations of shelter residence & kitchen2. Assist the Residential Programs Director in coordinating the shelter residence office and Shelter Support Staff3. Conduct onboarding and orientation of new shelter participants 4. Coordinate and monitor daily/weekly chores for shelter participants5. Conduct and monitor routine participant substance testing6. Develop and coordinate a chore manual; and provide routine chore trainings7. Train Shelter Support on the use of substance testing equipment8. Coordinate room assignments and daily room inspections9. Train and supervise kitchen assistants10. Prepare, cook and serve meals11. Order, inventory and manage food products, equipment and supplies12. Monitor shelter for safety, security and cleanliness13. Conduct weekly house meetings and maintain meeting minutes14. Serve on the Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) team15. Participate in weekly shelter care meetings16. Participate in program and agency trainings as assigned17. Maintain and monitor shelter logs18. Maintain accurate participant records in various information management systems; and generate reports as requested19. Maintain and execute confidential information according to HIPPA standards20. Maintain a highly detailed and organized filling system21. Ensure shelter utilizes mental health first aid, harm reduction and housing first principles22. Check and respond to emails and voicemails on a regular basis23. Adhere to confidentiality standards 24. Other duties as assigned

C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS1. Knowledge of, and familiarity with, homeless services and social services.2. Ability to speak and write the English language at a high and professional level3. High degree of confidentiality4. Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel and Outlook preferred 5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.6. Excellent and professional telephone etiquette and presence7. High degree of organizational skills8. Approach problem solving creatively9. Strong ability to utilize a high level of time management and handling multiple tasks D. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS1. High school diploma or equivalent 2. A minimum of 2 year’s work experience in social services, food services, property management or human services3. ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification, accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)4. Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License, and ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle5. Must be 21 years or older 6. Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training7. Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check to include a DOJ Livescan Fingerprint check.

E. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:1. Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis2. Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects3. Ability to reach overhead4. Ability to operate telephone5. Ability to lift up to 25-40 lbs.6. Ability to operate a computer7. Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information8. Ability to operate basic office equipment and tools PC, Fax Machine, Telephone, Calculator, Copier, Printer.
