Minimum 2 years experience IN license active General job duties and Types of procedures required.
1. Caring for postpartum couplets at the bedside including mothers, on magnesium and/or receiving blood transfusions. Caring for Level II infants in the nursery. Assessments, IVs, CPAP, BIPAP, NG feedings, competent in attending vaginal and cesarean sections as the primary baby nurse.
2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.) Meditech and Centricity Perinatal charting systems
3. Required skills and minimum years of experience. Registed nurse with at least 2 years experience in a Level II or higher nursery, and is competent in postpartum care
4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc) ACLS, BLS, NRP
5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?) 6p-6a, will not work alone. No call requirements. Weekends as needed.
6. Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?) Float med/surge, only as helper. Does not take a nursing assignment.
7. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. 12 postpartum rooms 8 Level II bays
8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only) 1:3
9. Dress Code: Hospital provided scrubs
