The Digital Content Specialist is responsible for planning, producing, and publishing engaging digital content across Riot New Media Group’s social media platforms and content channels. This highly collaborative role helps shape our voice and grow our online presence by crafting content that connects with our audience and supports editorial and business goals.
This position requires strong creative instincts, comfort with digital platforms and trends, and an eye for smart, compelling storytelling. The Digital Content Specialist will participate in campaign strategy and performance analysis, contribute to the success of our content across the web, newsletters, and podcasts, and help ensure our content meets the needs of both new and returning readers.
Duties :
Research and identify key audience segments and platform-specific strategies
Produce and publish content across digital channels including short-form video, social media, newsletters, and website
Develop and manage editorial calendars for social and digital content
Contribute to digital media campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and subscriptions
Monitor performance metrics and adjust content strategies accordingly
Collaborate closely with editorial, product, and sales teams
Stay up to date on digital trends and platform changes
Participate in company-wide initiatives as appropriate
Conduct a full audit of our social media presence
Support community building efforts by responding comments, DMs, and surfacing UGC
Perform content cleanup and optimization on platforms targeted for growth
Work with freelancers and partners to produce digital content as needed
Qualifications :
High school degree or equivalent
Knowledge of general business productivity tools
Demonstrated success growing and engaging a social audience, especially on Instagram and TikTok
Strong understanding of current trends in social video, bookish internet culture, and content strategy
Excellent writing skills with a sharp, adaptable voice
Experience with basic design tools and scheduling tools (bonus : experience with Canva and CapCut)
Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, creative environment
Bonus : Experience in book publishing, literary media, or a deep personal interest in books and reading
