Dunne Kozlowski is seeking a thoughtful and enthusiastic junior interior designer to join our collaborative studio. This role is best suited for someone with 1–2 years of professional experience who is eager to continue learning while making meaningful contributions to project work. As a junior interior designer, you will support a Senior Interior Designer, work alongside a team of four designers, and collaborate closely with a project architect and an architectural associate.

You’ll help prepare design documents, source materials, and create presentations, while gaining hands-on experience in all phases of the design process. Primary Responsibilities
Assist Senior Interior Designer with the preparation of design drawings, renderings, and presentations. Contribute to developing interior design concepts through material palettes, finish boards, and presentation graphics. Support the selection and specification of furniture, fixtures, equipment, and finishes. Maintain and organize the resource materials library. Communicate with vendors to request samples, gather information, and track pricing. Participate in project meetings by taking notes and learning how ideas move into design solutions. Assist in the preparation and revision of construction documents under direction. Contribute to design reviews with curiosity and openness to feedback. Learn project workflows, team communication, and processes that support successful project outcomes. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field preferred. 1–2 years of professional interior design experience required (internships considered as part of experience). High level of proficiency in Adobe Photoshop; familiarity with other Adobe Creative Suite programs and Microsoft Office a plus. Knowledge of Revit preferred; exposure to additional design software (e.g., SketchUp, Enscape) advantageous. Familiarity with interior design materials, finishes, and space planning is a plus. Excellent organizational and communication skills with strong attention to detail. Collaborative mindset with an eagerness to learn from senior team members. Self-starter with the ability to take initiative on assigned tasks while welcoming guidance. Flexibility to travel as needed for project and client meetings. Schedule This full-time role is based in Dunne Kozlowski’s hybrid studio in the Humboldt Park neighborhood of Chicago, IL. Mondays and Fridays are remote, and Tuesdays through Thursdays are in the studio.
