Functional System Analyst

AEP is seeking an experienced and motivated Functional System Analyst to join our Shreveport team. As a Functional System Analyst, you will build and maintain IT/OT Infrastructure systems for our 24/7/365 critical real-time operations facilities, support users in control center and support environments, ensure and provide documentation for compliance with regulatory standards and company policies, and participate in a team culture of consistency, transparency, and understood accountability. What You'll Do: Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of computer hardware and peripherals. Install, update and patch operating systems, firmware, and software packages. Coordinate and perform system reboots. Maintain accurate and detailed change management records. Configure network settings and resolve telecommunication issues. Perform computer system backups and restorations. Manage and monitor virtual computing environments. Utilize and modify process documentation. Support user account access, password management, and problem ticket resolution. Provide after hour support as needed in an on-call rotation. Analyze and facilitate resolution of computing environmental issues, such as power and HVAC. Monitor and engage with the latest industry trends and technology. What We're Looking For: 6 years of IT systems support experience with a High School Diploma or GED. 4 years of IT systems support experience with an Associate Degree in Business or Information Technology. 2 years of IT systems support experience with a Bachelor's Degree in Business or Information Technology. Other Must Haves: Demonstrates good listening skills and a sincere understanding of client business needs. Ask questions to clarify understanding. Relates on a personal level; positive friendly and engaging. Outgoing and comfortable in diverse groups. Uses Communications Technology (voicemail, e-mail, Internet) effectively balancing with appropriate face to face communications. Able to read reactions of an audience and adjust delivery style to fit the audience. Able to develop and present business documents and reports clearly, concisely and effectively. Demonstrate strong training and presentation skills. Previous knowledge and experience with some of the following will be favored: Windows Server and Linux Operating Systems Server and Workstation Hardware TCP/IP Networking Remote Computer Management Virtual computing environments Compensation Grade: SP20-006 Compensation Range: $72,380.00-90,474.50 USD The Physical Demand Level for this job is: S Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
