With that in mind, we have been aggressively expanding our consulting ranks in critical areas like enabling middleware and DBA solutions for long-term client run support. This expanded consulting team works with new and existing clients to help them maximize operational efficiency and resiliency. Your Role and Responsibilities

As an Oracle Database Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in driving solutioning, presales, and delivery enablement for clients operating in complex hybrid environments. You will leverage your deep database expertisespanning on-premise and cloud technologiesto guide clients in modernizing, optimizing, and transforming their database and middleware architecture to support mission-critical applications. Working in tandem with the AMS delivery team, you will also contribute to proposal development, deal shaping, and service transition efforts for managed services clients. This role demands a strong technical foundation in database technologies (primarily Oracle, but also SQL Server and PostgreSQL), middleware integration, and a strategic outlook on modernization across ERP ecosystems like Oracle ERP Cloud, SAP, Salesforce, and EPIC. goals, this team will empower clients to reduce TCO, improve platform resilience, and transition smoothly to future-ready architectures. We offer a flexible engagement model that supports everything from rapid assessments and strategic roadmaps to execution of modernization blueprints and operational excellence frameworks. This includes leading client workshops, proofs of concept (PoCs), and designing Minimum Viable Platforms (MVPs) that accelerate value realization. As a thought leader in this space, you will be instrumental in building, refining, and scaling the practice's capabilities while ensuring our clients succeed in transforming their mission-critical database and middleware ecosystems. Key Responsibilities

Understanding Client Problems and Designing Innovative Solutions: Analyze client challenges related to database performance, scalability, availability, and operations in hybrid (cloud + on-prem) environments. Design forward-looking, cost-optimized, and scalable solutions tailored to support enterprise workloads, including ERP platforms. Conduct infrastructure and platform assessments and define modernization roadmaps, including migration to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, or Azure. Recommend integration strategies using middleware platforms like MuleSoft, Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), etc. Service Offering Development: Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of AMS service offerings related to database management, automation, and platform modernization. Bring insights from client engagements to refine service catalogs and delivery playbooks for database and middleware support services. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design packaged services and accelerators that align with market trends and client expectations. Educating and Enabling Sales: Kyndryl has a large sales force who already know our clients and their needs. What they don't know is how your practice can help their clients. You will need to constantly educate our sales team on the value of AMS and middleware services. Partner with sales and solution teams to develop proposals, create client presentations, and deliver technical demos. Assist in responding to RFPs, RFIs, and creating solution artifacts with a strong technical and operational narrative. Enable account teams with training and positioning assets related to database modernization, support models, and tooling. Business Development and Relationship Management: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, shaping and influencing their database and infrastructure strategies. Build long-term client relationships and identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities around managed services and modernization journeys. Participate in pursuits and orals to support deal closure, often acting as the database solution SME. Delivery & Engagement Management: Collaborate with AMS delivery teams to ensure a seamless transition from presales to execution. Provide architecture oversight and technical guidance for ongoing AMS engagements, with a focus on database operations, performance tuning, and high availability. Establish governance models, SLAs, and operational metrics tailored to database and middleware landscapes. Mentor junior architects, DBAs, and engineers, fostering a high-performance, learning-focused culture. Evangelize best practices in database operations, DevOps/DBOps, and cloud-native infrastructure adoption. Lead thought leadership initiatives, including webinars, white papers, and internal enablement sessions. Who You Are

Required Skills and Expertise

Deep hands-on experience (7+ years of experience) with Oracle Database (administration, tuning, backup/recovery, RAC, ASM, Data Guard) in both on-prem and cloud environments (OCI preferred). Exposure to other enterprise RDBMS platforms like SQL Server and PostgreSQL. Middleware experience with platforms such as Oracle SOA Suite, OIC, MuleSoft, or similar. Understanding of infrastructure automation, scripting, and DevOps/DBOps tooling. Additional Skills and Expertise

Working knowledge of how Oracle, SAP, Salesforce, and EPIC systems interface with and depend on robust database and middleware platforms. Experience supporting or modernizing databases underpinning ERP applications. Consulting and Presales:

Strong client-facing experience with presales, proposal creation, and technical solution design. Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts in business language. AMS and Managed Services Exposure:

Experience in AMS modelstransition, steady-state, SLA/KPI setup, ticket lifecycle, and support models. Understanding of multi-vendor delivery environments and working with global delivery teams. Preferred Skills & Requirements:

The compensation range for the position in the U.S. is $134,160 to $254,880 based on a full-time schedule. Your actual compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately. The pay or salary range will not be below any applicable state, city or local minimum wage requirement.
