FIX/SWIFT Production Support Engineer
The Fountain Group, Dallas, Texas, United States, 75215
Pay is flexible, ideally $70-$90/hour W2. (C2C possible)
This is a hybrid role, onsite work is expected in Jersey City, NJ or Dallas, TX 2-x/week.
Primary Responsibilities
Installation, configuration, maintenance, debugging, and resolution of FIX (Appia, TradeScope, QuickFIX) or SWIFT systems. Implementing Alliance products on Linux and maintaining production environment stability. Providing advanced support and troubleshooting for production issues related to FIX, SWIFT, and Linux, including root cause analysis. Supporting immediate production issues with Appia, QuickFIX, or SWIFT Alliance. Participating in weekend on-call support rotations. Supporting weekend implementations and Disaster Recovery tests. Managing patching, upgrades, and infrastructure operations on FIX or SWIFT servers. Creating and maintaining detailed system documentation and diagrams for knowledge transfer. Analyzing system performance and capacity, providing recommendations. Maintaining and debugging administrative utilities using shell scripts (bash, perl). Collaborating with development teams to architect solutions. Utilizing Jira, Bitbucket, and Ansible for project management. Working independently and as part of a team. Leading and implementing automated solutions. Recommending process and technological improvements. Monitoring and mitigating risk by integrating risk and control processes into daily responsibilities. Completing complex projects within time and budget constraints. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering preferred. At least 8 years of experience with FIX or SWIFT. Strong knowledge of Client Appia, QuickFIX, or SWIFT Alliance Access. Proficient in Linux administration and networking, with scripting skills in Shell, Perl, Python, etc. Experience handling critical production incidents. Hands-on support experience in a real-time trading environment. Knowledge of high-performance messaging/middleware solutions. Experience developing automated distributed solutions. Strong troubleshooting skills for middleware FIX or SWIFT products. About Us: The
