Northrop Grumman Space Systems Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Principal SW Development Analyst SW Analysis Tools Developer (24-408) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL. Position Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. As a member of the Regional Applications Agile Release Train (ART) of the Missile Defense National Team for Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) (aka C2BMC NT), the applicant will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of existing and new Java-based tools and plug-ins to support analysis and test efforts. Essential Functions: Assist in generating software design artifacts, implementing Java-based software changes, supporting design and code reviews, supporting software testing, resolving issues arising from software testing, and converting
MATLAB
and
Python
code into Java tools.
Presentation of developed designs.
The developed tool sets will be integrated into the development
CI/CD
pipeline.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience developing Java software applications and tools for processing and analyzing test data.
Must be familiar with Systems Engineering and Software Development lifecycles.
Demonstrated proficiency using Java to perform data analysis.
Knowledge and experience in presenting analysis results information to software engineers and other stakeholders.
Knowledge and some experience developing software within a
DEVSECOPS
framework for
Java-based applications in a Unix/Linux
platform environment.
Previous experience driving projects to closure through communication, coordination, and execution.
Infrequent travel between the C2BMC Development Sites and to the C2BMC Test Bed may be required.
Basic Qualifications: An active Secret clearance is required to start.
Bachelors Degree in a
STEM
discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Masters degree and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 1 year of experience, or 9 years of related experience instead of a degree may be considered.
Ability to read and understand
Java ,
C ,
C++ , and/or
Fortran .
Knowledge of implementing
MATLAB -based algorithms into Java-based software.
Experience in
Agile
Environments.
Experience with
JIRA ,
Confluence , or other project management tools.
Experience with: Git/GitLab
Eclipse
Maven

Must communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and capabilities of developed tools to all audiences.
Preferred Qualifications: Current DoD 8140 certification at
IAT Level II or higher
is highly desired.
A Masters degree in
STEM
discipline preferred with 3 years experience.
Experience developing and understanding complex algorithms and data science.
Experience with missile defense battle management and command & control systems is desired.
Pay Range:
