The posted compensation range of $36.59 - $45.69/hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law. Under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) performs assigned duties to support patient care to all ages. Duties include medication administration per scope of practice, collection of lab samples (e.g., drawing blood, urine, glucose testing, newborn metabolic screening), obtaining vital signs, taking patient histories, starting IV's, insertion/removal of foleys, newborn bath, assist with feeding newborns, facilitating skin to skin, breast feeding education, mother-baby care education/discharge teaching, dressing changes, use of a bladder scanner, assist with ambulation/fall prevention, perineal care, quantitative blood loss, and surgical scrub technician. LVN will report observations regarding patient status to the registered nurse. LVN will also support department activities (e.g., compile packets, check crash carts, stocking unit and cleaning work areas). The LVN can serve as unit clerk and can order tests using computer system. Assembles, maintains and files the medical record according to department policy and procedure. The LVN may be assigned other duties in addition to the major responsibilities listed above. Employees are responsible for the completion of unit competency checklist, annual Safety Review, current certifications (CPR and NRP) and license (LVN) by maintaining continuing education units as required by governing board and hospital policy. Minimum Qualifications: Current California licensure as a Vocational nurse. Current CPR -within 30 days of employment. Neonatal Resuscitation Certification -within 30 days of employment. IV Certification Required. One (1) year current experience in an acute care setting or specialty area preferred.
