Job Summary

The Data Reporting and Automation Analyst is responsible for performing advanced configuration activities, leading research, and resolving complex configuration issues. This position focuses on mastering and applying provider configuration principles in Facets or similar systems, with a strong emphasis on technical skills, critical thinking, and analysis. The role includes writing code in Python, utilizing intermediate SQL skills, and leveraging advanced Excel capabilities to enhance data analysis, reporting and development of related automated processes for the team.

This is a Temporary WFH position.

Pay Range

$36.15 - $47.00 (depending on experience).

Actual pay is based on qualifications. Applicants who do not exceed the minimum qualifications will only be eligible for the low end of the pay range.

Primary Functions

Understand the location of provider data in our system and the business rules associated with configuration. Find and fix complex provider configuration errors using intermediate SQL and other tools. Write and maintain Python scripts for data analysis and automation tasks. Analyze and check data using advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and macros. Develop and implement data collection systems that optimize data quality. Create and maintain documentation for complex processes. Prepare and validate provider rosters for automated processing, ensuring data integrity. Lead and participate in projects, providing technical expertise. Collaborate with IT to update scripts for system changes. Support automation projects as directed by management. Find alternative solutions when standard configuration does not meet business needs. Mentor and support junior analysts, providing technical guidance and training. Create dashboards and reports using SQL and Excel. Analyze provider information, contract details, and pricing using SQL and Excel pivot tables. Work with management to prioritize business and information needs. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelors degree in healthcare administration, information systems, computer science, or equivalent experience. 35 years of experience in health insurance or a related field preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, macros) and Word. Intermediate SQL and Python skills for data extraction, analysis, and automation strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of healthcare provider data and claims processing, including configuration impacts on claims payment preferred. Experience with data visualization tools preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear reports and presentations for diverse audiences. Ability to troubleshoot data issues, identify anomalies, and translate findings into actionable insights. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a commitment to continuous learning and the ability to quickly grasp new concepts. Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to lead initiatives, work independently in a remote team, and collaborate with both local and offshore teams. Skilled at mentoring junior staff and improving internal processes such as data validation and spreadsheet preparation. Strong understanding of data integrity, quality assurance, and business impacts across departments. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in all internal and external interactions.

Working Conditions & Contact With Others

Office environment with extensive close PC and keyboard use, constant sitting, and frequent phone communication. Must be able to navigate multiple computer screens. A reliable, high-speed, hard-wired internet connection required to support remote or hybrid work. Must be comfortable being on camera for virtual training and meetings. Work in excess of standard workweek, including evenings and occasional weekends, to meet business need. Include internal and external contacts
