Pediatric Hospitalist Physician in California - Day and Night Shifts Available
Inpatient pediatric coverage in Chico, California with multiple 12-hour shift options, APP support, and procedures required.
Highlights
- Choose 12-hour day shifts or night call; no supervision needed
- 7+ shifts/month preferred; only 3 required to start
- Open dates for fall, winter, and ongoing
Practice Setting
- Level II NICU with 6 beds, plus 5-bed pediatric floor
- No neonatologist; pediatricians attend high-risk deliveries
- Transfer team and ED support available
- Baby-friendly hospital using EPIC and Dragon
Schedule
- 12-hour shifts: 7a-7p (day) or 7p-7a (night)
- Average 5-8 night calls, 4 in-person visits
- Must see ED patients within 12 hrs; critical patients within 3 hrs
- APPs available on weekday rounds
Cases and Procedures
- ED consults, high-risk deliveries, neonatal resuscitation
- C-sections, intubation, UAC/UVC line placement
- Well-baby rounding in collaboration with community pediatricians
Requirements
- Board Certified Pediatrician
- Active California license
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, DEA required
- Comfortable with full-scope inpatient pediatrics
Travel Accommodations
- Flights, lodging, rental car, and mileage reimbursed
