Job Description
Design Manager
AGS has an IMMEDIATE opening for a Design Manager with 4+ years’ experience for projects specifically in Airport Facilities, Transit Systems, and Infrastructure. The Design Manager should have experience in construction and engineering design of major public-sector projects, preferably with the Airport Commission.
Position requires work on the project site.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Project Manager
- Establish effective communication and collaboration among relevant parties, ensuring smooth flow of design information
- Identify and mitigate design coordination issues proactively
- Prepare detailed reports, charts, and diagrams using MS Office Suite
- Coordinate monthly reporting with the Project Controls Team
- Provide inspection and field observation reports on construction status as per contract documents
- Coordinate with client stakeholders
- Prepare presentations
- Attend weekly construction status meetings
- Lead tours for tenants, stakeholders, and other client-selected parties
- Assist with Building Activation, coordinating with stakeholders and tenants during implementation
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management
- 4+ years’ experience in Design, Engineering, or Construction
- Basic knowledge of building construction
- Understanding of planning applications, and regulations in San Francisco and California, including environmental, health, and safety standards
- Experience with FAA guidelines
- Legal, commercial, and contractual knowledge
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam
- Teamwork and adaptability
- Problem-solving skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to obtain security clearance
- Ability to comprehend complex technical programs
- Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical personnel
- Strong written and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Aviation or transportation industries
- Experience working in secure environments
- Stakeholder engagement experience
- Professional licensure

Salary Range:
Annual Salary: $165,000 - $176,800; Hourly Salary: $79.33 - $85.00
