Direct message the job poster from ReadyOn AI
Labor makes up 40% of frontline employer P&L, but it’s managed with decades-old software and manual processes. These systems are top-down, designed for a world where schedules are static and flexibility optional.
ReadyOn was founded to reject that paradigm. We believe staffing isn’t a scheduling problem, it’s a supply and demand matching problem. ReadyOn is the AI-native labor operating system , built from the ground up for AI agents to perform real-time labor optimization. It’s the leap from taxi dispatch to ridesharing, from fixed rosters to dynamic labor allocation.
AI isn’t just a feature in our platform. Every decision, from demand forecasting to shift assignment, flows through an adaptive, autonomous decision layer. The system learns from operational data, continuously optimizes for cost and associate satisfaction, and acts on its own to make work run smoothly.
The co-founders are experts in labor markets, enterprise software, and AI-enabled platforms:
- Mohammad is a Stanford professor and the leading expert in algorithmic market design
- Dominic optimized labor-intensive operations in 21 countries
- Reza scaled enterprise-grade systems at Google, Yahoo, and AT&T
We’ve raised from Floodgate, Cowboy Ventures, and Construct. We’ve already proven product-market fit, signing multiple multi-million-dollar customers, driving consistent expansion within existing accounts, and delivering measurable ROI that moves stock prices.
About the roles
We are forming our AI team with two foundational hires: an AI Product Engineer and an AI Platform Engineer . You’ll work directly with the VP of AI and to design, build, and ship intelligent features. This is a hands-on builder role: you’ll be delivering user-facing AI features from day one.
This is a rare opportunity to define the blueprint for how AI gets built at a fast-moving startup — and to see your work adopted by real-world, non-technical users.
What you’ll do:
- Own the behavior of AI-powered features from prompt design to evaluation to implementation
- Write, test, and refine prompts and templates for both standalone AI features and agent workflows
- Define and run evaluation processes: automated tests, human-in-the-loop review, and analysis of user feedback
- Collaborate with product and design to understand user behavior and define requirements for AI capabilities
- Collaborate with the rest of the AI team to evolve the foundations of our AI platform and tooling
Your background:
- You’re a data scientist, applied researcher, or engineer who wants to work directly on AI features in production
- You’re fluent in Python and comfortable working in a collaborative codebase
- You’ve explored agent frameworks or LLM-powered tools, maybe in a side project, and want to apply them to real-world, high-stakes use cases
- You enjoy collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams, but can work independently to own a feature’s AI logic end-to-end
What you'll do:
- Design and build the systems that power core AI features: LLM service layers, prompt execution environments, evaluation pipelines, and logging infrastructure
- Collaborate with platform and backend engineering teams to integrate AI into ReadyOn’s architecture
- Create internal tools and abstractions to enable fast iteration on AI product features across the team
- Own observability, performance, and correctness for AI workflows in production
- Build automated and human-in-the-loop evals for AI outputs, including agent decision-making and tool use
Your background:
- You have strong backend or systems engineering experience and want to pivot into applied AI
- You’ve explored LLM APIs or agent/LLM-related open source projects, maybe as part of a side project. Experience building AI systems in production is a plus but not required
- You’ve built or maintained infrastructure that other teams depended on for core functionality
Why you’ll love this
- Massive impact : Your work will improve the lives of millions of workers and transform how huge enterprises operate
- AI-native foundation : You’ll be building technology designed for AI from day one, not retrofitted into old tools
- High-stakes deployments : You’ll see your work in action at stadiums, hotels, resorts, and hospitals across the world
- Huge market : Even a 1% improvement in staffing efficiency can save billions
- Competitive salary and equity package
- Flexible work schedule and unlimited PTO
- Team lunches and events in SF
