Our team of remarkable nurses is looking for you to join their team! This position offers the opportunity to float across infusion centers as needed within the region. Our infusion centers care for both oncology and specialty infusion patients.

We are looking for candidates to have a minimum of 1 year of nursing and infusion experience. This role will float between the following outreach infusion centers: Fond du Lac, Ripon, Waupun. Mileage is reimbursed from home site.

Job duties include providing education and support to patients receiving specialty infusions, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy. Administer infusions and monitor patients during their treatment while gaining experience in IV's, PICC's, Ports, and drawing labs.

The Infusion Nurse will assess the patient with each treatment and will collaborate with the provider as needed. The Infusion Nurse implements the treatment (therapy) plan and provides diagnosis related to health, safety, and treatment plan education.

Department: Ambulatory Infusion

  • Patient Population or Ratio: variable, 5-7 average patients a day
  • Schedule: Day Shift, Monday through Friday, no holidays or weekends. The clinic is open from 0730-1800, specific hours TBD. Potential for weekend opportunities at Janesville and Madison.
  • Starting Pay: $35.02 + (offers are based on years of experience and equity for this role.) and float pool premium of $15.00!!

Job summary: Performs the primary functions of a registered nurse in assessing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of all assigned patients.

Job responsibilities and requirements include supporting the care of the patient, working collaboratively with interprofessional team members, collaborating with other departments to establish patient/family treatment plans, individualizing, implementing, evaluating or updating the plan of care, possessing the ability to complete intravenous insertion and assessment, utilizing equipment such as point of care ultrasound equipment and intravenous infusion pumps, demonstrating proper interpretation of department specific policies and related laboratory results to safely manage specific patient needs, implementing, monitoring and recording patient care, utilizing the Electronic Health Record (EHR) to access treatment and therapy plans, applying the existing body of evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in health care to nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care is delivered based on patient's age-specific needs and clinical needs, working in a constant state of alertness and safe manner, and performing other duties as assigned.

  • Supports the care of the patient and assesses and addresses the needs of the patient/family.
  • Works collaboratively with other interprofessional team members in resolving patient/family problems, concerns, and issues.
  • Collaborates with other departments as needed to establish the patient/family treatment plan.
  • Individualizes, implements, evaluates or updates the plan of care and patient educational needs regarding vascular access.
  • Possesses the ability to complete intravenous insertion and assessment to include peripheral and central line access.
  • Utilizes equipment such as point of care ultrasound equipment and intravenous infusion pumps as appropriate.
  • Demonstrates proper interpretation of department specific policies and related laboratory results to safely manage specific patient needs.
  • Implements, monitors and records patient care and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Takes appropriate actions to unanticipated changes in patient condition.
  • Utilizes the Electronic Health Record (EHR) to access treatment and therapy plans.
  • Applies the existing body of evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in health care to nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care is delivered based on patient's age-specific needs and clinical needs as described in the department's scope of service.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education: Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.

Experience: No experience required.

Physical Requirements: Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication. Constant standing and walking. Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. Frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use/data entry. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors. Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors. Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. Occasional lifting/moving of patients. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Occasional driving. Rare crawling and running.
