Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/03/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 35 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, rotating Employment Type: Travel Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse for our prestigious Main Campus Coronary ICU. This role requires expertise in managing complex cardiac surgery patients and those with critical cardiovascular conditions in a world-renowned academic medical center. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate excellence in critical care nursing. Minimum Requirements & Qualifications Licensure: Active PERMANENT Ohio RN license or Compact State license in hand at submission Experience: Minimum of 18 months recent PERMANENT CVICU experience prior to any travel assignments Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required (active, nothing pending) Reference: One supervisory reference (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director) in CVICU specialty required Testing: Must pass ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate during orientation (2 attempts maximum) Key Responsibilities Provide advanced nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular surgery patients and those with complex cardiac conditions Manage patients requiring hemodynamic monitoring, ventilatory support, and vasoactive medications Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments and implement evidence-based interventions Operate and manage advanced cardiac monitoring equipment and life support devices Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, and specialized technicians Provide patient and family education regarding complex cardiac conditions and treatments Unit & Population Details Patient Population: Post-operative cardiac surgery patients, complex cardiovascular conditions, critical care cardiology patients Clinical Focus: Advanced hemodynamic monitoring, cardiac surgery recovery, mechanical circulatory support, complex medication management Facility Type: World-renowned academic medical center and heart center Environment: Fast-paced, high-acuity coronary intensive care unit Schedule & Requirements Shift Pattern: Day/Night rotating (typically 2 weeks days, 2 weeks nights if needed for operational needs) Weekend Options: Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon only (no Sun/Mon/Tues or Thur/Fri/Sat) About HonorVet Technologies HonorVet Technologies: Pioneering Purpose, Empowering Heroes Founded in 2015, HonorVet Technologies stands as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) , proudly certified by NaVOBA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs .
