This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a Level I Trauma, teaching hospital environment while working alongside a highly reliable team. Facility Highlights * 885 licensed beds * Level I Trauma Center * Academic Medical Center / Teaching Hospital * Chest Pain and Stroke Centers of Excellence Unit Details * 29-bed MedSurg Telemetry unit * Experience Required: Minimum 2 years MST * First-Time Travelers: Accepted with strong MST background Patient Population * General Medicine (DM, GI, Respiratory, Renal) * Wounds and dressing changes * Chest tubes & trachs * Lab draws Ratios * RN: 1:5-6 * CNA: 1:9-10 Certifications Required * BLS * ACLS * NIHSS Key Skills * Telemetry strip interpretation * Chest tube & trach management * IV starts, drains & tubes * PCA pumps (Fentanyl, Ketamine) * Gtt management (Amiodarone occasionally, Heparin, PCA drips) * Strong communication & collaboration skills Department Support * CNAs assist with basic nursing care & support * Receptionist/HUC support * Charge nurse coverage * Shared phlebotomy responsibilities * Rapid Response Team, RT, hospitalist & intensivist support 24/7 * Centralized telemetry monitoring Technology * EMR: Epic * IV Pump: Alaris * Omnicell med dispensing Floating * May float to other MedSurg units within scope of practice Scheduling & Orientation * Weekend rotation: Every other weekend * Holiday requirement: 75% of holidays * Orientation: NEO + 2 days departmental * Schedule cycle: Every 6 weeks * Scrub color: Royal Blue * Parking: Free employee parking Why You'll Love This Opportunity This MedSurg Tele unit is patient-centered, teamwork-driven, and highly reliable , making it a supportive environment for both seasoned travelers and first-time travel nurses.
