Candidates must have Level II or Level III trauma experience. Description: The emergency department consists of 16 beds with 8 hall chairs. There are 6-7 staff members per shift. Staff includes charge nurses, triage nurses, and additional nursing staff. Patient ratios are typically 1:4 for low acuity cases and may go up to 6. Common equipment includes cardiac monitors, IV pumps, and vital signs equipment. Electronic medical records are managed through Meditech, with vital signs flowing into the chart. Typical procedures performed include assessments, documentation, medication administration, and wound care. Nurses will also perform splinting, IV placements, urine collection, and lab draws. Care is provided for patients classified as ESI 5 through 1. The dress code requires royal blue scrubs. Staff is encouraged to show team spirit by wearing team jerseys on certain days. A mandatory shift huddle occurs every day at 7 am and 7 pm. EMTALA training is also mandatory for all staff. The department has received recognition for climbing the ranks in patient satisfaction and employee engagement. We provide timely care for patients experiencing strokes, STEMI, sepsis, and trauma. The unit is transitioning from a Level IV to a Level II trauma facility, indicating advancement in care capabilities.
