**Job Description: Night Shift Telemetry Registered Nurse**
**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Telemetry Registered Nurse to join our team for the night shift, operating on a 4x12-hour schedule (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM). The ideal candidate should be prepared to float between units as needed and demonstrate flexibility in scheduling.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a telemetry setting, managing a patient ratio of approximately 1 to 5 or 6, with rare instances of up to 1 to 7.
- Float to like acuity units as needed, ensuring continuity of care across departments.
- Monitor patients on telemetry, assess vital signs, and respond to any immediate medical concerns.
- Administer medications and treatments as per established protocols, including IV medications, cardiac drips, and vasoactive drips without titration.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and facilitate communication among health care providers.
- Perform specialized nursing skills including cardiac telemetry monitoring, blood product administration, and care for patients with diverse medical conditions such as CHF, strokes, diabetes, and acute kidney injury.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, including those on COVID-19 and flu vaccinations, and engage in ongoing education and training.
**Qualifications:**
- Active registered nursing license.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with strong patient ratio management experience (preferably 6).
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke certification.
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems, specifically Epic.
- Experience in a telemetry or med/surg nursing environment is required, with demonstrated skills in managing cardiac patients and postoperative care.
**Schedule and Availability:**
- Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (4x12 hours).
- Must be willing to work alternating weekends and participate in on-call shifts as needed (1 shift per pay period).
- Flexible scheduling options may be available.
**Additional Information:**
- Orientation hours: 24 hours.
