We are seeking an IT and Security Engineer to design, implement, and manage systems for operating our nuclear plants and chemical process plants, and handling operational systems. As our first IT hire, you will own the setup of foundational InfoSec and IT infrastructure across the company.

What You'll Do

Manage Networking & Infrastructure

Own networking and computing architectures throughout the company, including on-premises and cloud servers related to plant operations and R&D scientific simulation computing clusters.

Embed Security into Engineering Projects

Work closely with our engineering teams to build security into projects from the ground up.

Implement Monitoring & Incident Response

Build monitoring and incident response capabilities across cloud infrastructure and field industrial plant deployments.

Procure & Interface with Hardware Vendors

Procure infrastructure hardware and interface with hardware vendors

Required Qualifications

3+ years in security engineering and IT roles

Strong technical background in cloud security, network security, and application security

Experience securing IoT environments, distributed edge computing systems, or industrial plant systems

Track record of implementing security and infrastructure in fast-moving engineering organizations

Ability to balance security requirements with operational needs

Comfortable working with both *nix and Windows systems

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cloud security architecture across AWS, Azure, GCP

ExInfrastructure as code and secure CI/CD pipelines

Network security and zero-trust architecture

Cryptography and PKI implementation

Python or similar for security automation and scripting

Experience deploying secure systems in safety-critical domains with strict regulatory requirements

Platforms & Systems: Microsoft Azure Enterprise, AWS, GCP, Windows, Linux

Security & Monitoring: Cloud-native security tooling, endpoint detection/response, incident response playbooks

Networking: Zero-trust architectures, VPNs, VLANs, identity federation, encrypted communication

Automation & Infra: Python, PowerShell, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines

Industrial/Field Systems: IoT, OT, edge computing, industrial control systems (ICS)
