Your Role Includes:
Partnering with agile teams to design, develop, implement, and support comprehensive technical solutions using full-stack development tools and technologies.
Leading a group of talented developers specialized in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full-stack systems.
Utilizing programming languages such as Java, Scala, and Python, along with RDBMS and NoSQL databases, and cloud-based data warehousing solutions like Redshift and Snowflake.
Staying current with tech trends, engaging in experiments with new technologies, contributing to technology communities, and mentoring fellow engineers.
Collaborating with digital product managers to deliver powerful cloud-based solutions that help millions of Americans gain financial empowerment.
Conducting unit tests and engaging in peer reviews to ensure your code is efficiently designed and optimized for performance.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree
6+ years of experience in application development (Internship experience does not apply)
2+ years of experience with big data technologies
1+ year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree
9+ years of application development experience, including proficiency in Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
4+ years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
5+ years of experience with distributed data/computing tools (MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, or MySQL)
4+ years of experience with real-time data and streaming applications
4+ years of experience with NoSQL (Mongo, Cassandra)
4+ years of experience in data warehousing (Redshift or Snowflake)
4+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux, including basic commands and shell scripting
2+ years of experience with Agile engineering practices
This position is available at our offices in Plano, TX; McLean, VA; Richmond, VA; and Cambridge, MA. For example, in Plano, TX, the salary ranges from $204,900 - $233,800; in McLean, VA, it ranges from $225,400 - $257,200; in Richmond, VA, it also ranges from $204,900 - $233,800; and in Cambridge, MA, it ranges from $225,400 - $257,200. This salary information reflects Capital One's current pay range. In addition to a competitive salary, this role is eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
