Your Key Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and maintain full-stack technical solutions.
Partner with a skilled team of developers in machine learning, distributed microservices, and comprehensive system architectures.
Utilize programming languages such as Java, Scala, Python, along with Open Source RDBMS, NoSQL databases, and cloud-based data warehousing services like Redshift and Snowflake.
Engage with emerging tech trends, explore new technologies, and actively contribute to both internal and external technology communities while mentoring fellow engineers.
Collaborate with digital product managers to create robust cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans in their financial journeys.
Conduct thorough unit tests and participate in code reviews to ensure your code is well-designed, efficiently written, and optimized for performance.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in application development (Internship experience does not count).
At least 1 year of experience working with big data technologies.
Preferred Qualifications: 5+ years of application development experience with Python, SQL, Scala, or Java.
2+ years of experience with a public cloud platform (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
3+ years of expertise in distributed data/computing tools (MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark, Gurobi, MySQL).
2+ years of experience working with real-time data and streaming applications.
2+ years of hands-on experience with NoSQL implementations (MongoDB, Cassandra).
2+ years of experience in data warehousing (Redshift or Snowflake).
3+ years of UNIX/Linux experience, including basic commands and shell scripting.
2+ years of experience applying Agile engineering practices.
This position is not eligible for employment-related immigration sponsorship at this time. The salary for this role ranges as follows: McLean, VA: $158,600 - $181,000; Richmond, VA: $144,200 - $164,600. Please note that actual salaries may vary based on the candidate's location and experience. This role may also include performance-based incentive compensation, which can consist of cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
