Position Overview
Berkshire Medical Center is seeking an experienced and licensed
Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
to join the Emergency Medicine department on a travel contract. The Social Worker will provide crisis evaluations in the Emergency Department (ED/ER) and must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
Conduct facility crisis evaluations for pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients in the ED/ER. Provide psychosocial support, counseling, and resource referrals for patients and families. Collaborate with medical staff, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care. Document patient assessments, treatment plans, and interventions accurately and in a timely manner. Respond promptly to crisis situations, ensuring patient and staff safety. Follow hospital policies, safety protocols, and professional ethical standards. Required Qualifications
Licensure:
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) – Massachusetts. Experience:
Minimum of 2+ years of psychiatric experience. Certifications:
AMSR (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) – Required. CPI/Welle (Crisis Prevention Intervention) – Required. BLS (American Heart Association).
Experience with pediatric, adolescent, and adult patient populations. Ability to pass background and license checks with no findings. Must have own transportation. Not eligible if residing within 50 miles of the facility. #AB
