The Opportunity
National Veterinary Associates is seeking to hire a
General Manager of Hospital Operations
for
North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital . This role oversees the operations of a large-volume hospital, supports the rollout of NVA programs, acts as an influencer within the division, and liaises between the NVA Support Center and the veterinary practice. The individual will work closely with the Manager of Regional Operations to improve processes and profitability through local growth initiatives.

partners with the Managing Veterinarian to ensure smooth and profitable operations, driving revenue, managing costs, and fostering a high-quality care and service culture. Responsibilities include managing hospital operations, cultivating a team environment, and on-site attendance is essential.

Specific Areas Of Responsibility Hospital Operations
Act as liaison between hospitals, NVA support center, and MRO
Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures
Leverage practice management software for reporting and training
Ensure staff scheduling and optimization
Analyze operational reports for improvements
Implement NVA initiatives as a change manager
Oversee employee benefits and insurance plans
Develop and implement hospital policies, including compliance
Perform quality checks on client files
Monitor systems and resolve technical issues
Work with the Managing Veterinarian on veterinary practices
Strategic Planning and Leadership
Create hospital strategy with Veterinarian and MRO
Set goals, delegate, and track performance
Manage productivity and financial targets
Analyze and improve systems and policies
Participate in regional meetings
Promote best practices and change management
Hospital Leader Development
Train and develop managers and leads
Support staff onboarding and positioning
Mentor and coach hospital staff
Ensure training in financial and operational systems
Financial Management
Analyze hospital financial health
Prepare and communicate budgets
Manage costs and drive revenue
Oversee payroll, accounts receivable, and inventory
Manage other essential duties
People Management
Address staffing needs and hiring
Manage performance reviews and personnel issues
Ensure HR policy compliance
Develop staff and manage licensures
Client Relations
Ensure high client service standards
Resolve client issues and follow-ups
Drive client visits and marketing initiatives
Oversee client acquisition and retention
Qualifications
At least 5 years in operations management
Bachelor's in business or related; MBA a plus
Experience managing large teams and P&L of $9M+
Financial analysis skills and business strategy experience
Knowledge of business financial statements
Proficiency in computer skills, practice management software a plus
High EQ and professional demeanor
Experience with renovations or relocations a plus
Benefits
Salary: $110,000 - $140,000
Bonus up to $45k
