The Communications & Marketing Associate helps develop and implement communication strategies approved by the Dean and Pardee School leadership. Responsibilities include managing the School website and electronic outlets, creating content for various mediums, managing media relationships, publicizing events, and advising faculty and staff on communication strategies. The role reports to the Director of Strategic Affairs and Communications. Key Responsibilities
Content Production:
Produce written and graphical content for web and print, including reports, newsletters, press releases, and faculty research updates. Manage web content and event calendars, and develop school publications. Web Management:
Maintain and update the School website and social media, optimize for SEO, ensure stylistic consistency, and collaborate with faculty and staff for content development. Media Management:
Build relationships with media outlets, pitch stories, manage interviews, and enhance media coverage of school activities. Advertising and Marketing:
Develop marketing strategies utilizing print, radio, online, and social media channels. Create marketing content and liaise with BU Marketing for ad placements. Communication Coordination:
Ensure adherence to university policies, maintain brand integrity, coordinate communication activities across units, and manage the School-wide communication calendar. Event Publicity:
Collaborate on event publicity strategies, create outreach materials, and advise on event communication management. Required Skills
Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred 3-5 years of experience Excellent writing skills Graphic and web design experience preferred Experience with WordPress, Google Analytics, SEO, social media management tools (Sprout Social, Instagram, Facebook, X), Canva, Mailchimp We are an equal opportunity employer.
