Staff Accountant – Commercial Real Estate

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to provide high-level support to our Senior Property Accountant in managing a diverse commercial real estate portfolio. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with solid experience who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to focus on execution, accuracy, and efficiency without the administrative burden of leading the department. Key Responsibilities Partner closely with the Senior Property Accountant to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for assigned properties. Maintain an organized, digital filing system for financial records. Process invoices, tenant charges, billbacks, and late fees in Yardi with correct coding and documentation. Assist with vendor setup, maintenance, and payment tracking. Post tenant and non-tenant cash receipts and reconcile ledgers. Support monthly bank and account reconciliations. Prepare journal entries and assist with monthly close processes. Help prepare annual budgets, CAM reconciliations, and escalation calculations. Monitor accounts receivable aging and assist in collection follow-ups with property managers. Research and resolve discrepancies, escalating complex issues to the Senior Property Accountant. Contribute to process improvements and cross-department projects. Qualifications 2–4 years of accounting experience, ideally in commercial real estate or property management. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred. Proficiency with Yardi or similar property management accounting software is a plus. Solid understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting processes. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through. Seniority level
