Who are we looking for?

At GHD we are looking for our next Graduate Environmental Planner to join our Natural Resources and Impact Assessment team in Santa Rosa, California. The candidate can also be in one of our San Francisco Bay Area locations, including San Francisco, Concord or Oakland.

Our team provides environmental impact documentation and permitting services for a broad range of interesting clients and projects, working across multiple geographies throughout California and the Pacific. Our work extends across a diverse range of market sectors, including transportation (ports, road, rail, and transit), utilities, local development, energy, mining, and coastal restoration.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

Document Preparation: Assisting in the preparation of CEQA and NEPA documentation; preparation of federal, state, and local resource agency permits; completion of technical studies; and project compliance monitoring. Organize and prepare complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices, such as standard office software. Also responsible for gathering and summarizing data for special reports. Data Collection and Analysis: Conduct research related to CEQA/NEPA environmental topics and summarizing data and technical studies for environmental documents and permit applications. Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently. Personal Capability Building: Develop your capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media. Internal Communications: Help others get the most out of internal communications systems by offering support and advice. External Communications: Help others get the most out of external communications systems by offering support and advice. Stakeholder Engagement: Assist with stakeholder engagement by arranging actions, meetings, events, and supporting materials to promote stakeholder understanding and commitment.

What You Will Bring To The Team

Education

Bachelor's degree in environmental studies, land use planning or related field.

Experience

0-2 years of experience in a similar role. Knowledge of CEQA and NEPA, and land use planning at the local level.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 based on experience and location.
