The Project Director will provide overall direction and leadership for the assigned work program across all phases of the project lifecycle. This position is responsible for operational excellence, financial management, team leadership, and stakeholder relationship management, ensuring contractual and financial targets are met or exceeded. Activities support JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership:
Provides direction and leadership across all project phases, developing and executing strategic plans.
Safety Leadership:
Leads safety culture initiatives, investigates incidents, and implements corrective actions.
Client & Stakeholder Management:
Builds long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring project success and repeat business.
Risk & Issue Management:
Serves as escalation point for project risks, negotiates issue resolution, and conducts risk assessments.
Subcontractor Strategy:
Develops relationships with subcontractors, overseeing selection and strategy for project success.
Preconstruction & Planning:
Leads preconstruction discussions, develops estimates, schedules, and staffing plans.
Project Oversight:
Oversees project and schedule reviews, ensuring contractual obligations are met.
Resource & Community Management:
Ensures staffing adequacy and represents the company in community and industry engagements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
15+ years construction management experience, including 5+ years of people management.
Experience managing large aviation projects (>$50M).
Strong leadership, communication, and strategic skills.
Additional Information
Willingness to travel across the U.S.
Ability to work non-traditional hours and lift up to 25 pounds.
Normal office environment with potential exposure to extreme conditions.
