Senior Manager - Architect Data Engineering Job Description Summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a highly skilled Architect – Data Engineering to design scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions across the enterprise. Reporting to the Director of Data Engineering & Analytics, this role focuses on architecting data platforms, driving adoption of modern technologies, and aligning with enterprise standards. This role combines technical expertise with strategic insight to shape data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML capabilities, enabling data-driven decisions and competitive advantage. Key Responsibilities

Design and lead architecture for cloud-native data engineering, AI/ML, and analytics platforms across the data lifecycle. Use technologies like Azure Synapse, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Power BI, Tableau, Python. Collaborate with leadership to align solutions with enterprise goals and innovation roadmaps. Establish standards for data quality, metadata, lineage, and governance using tools like Profisee and Azure Purview. Guide AI/ML integration, including data prep, feature engineering, and model deployment. Conduct design reviews, assessments, and performance tuning for system reliability and scalability. Create reusable patterns, frameworks, and standards in Python, PySpark, SQL. Work with product managers, engineers, analysts, and data scientists on solutions. Evaluate and adopt emerging cloud data technologies. Mentor data engineers and oversee best practices. Support DevOps/DataOps with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, automated testing. Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related. 10+ years in data engineering, with at least 5 years in an architecture or lead role. Experience with enterprise cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud). Expertise in Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Spark/PySpark, SQL. Knowledge of data lakehouse, data fabric, microservices, event-driven architectures. Experience with data governance and MDM tools like Profisee, Azure Purview. Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes. Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of data mesh, data fabric, lakehouse frameworks. Experience in real estate, capital projects, or data-driven domains. Skills in Python, Scala, or similar languages. Understanding of ML/AI lifecycle architecture. Certifications like Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Data Analytics, TOGAF.
