POSITION OVERVIEW
This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining Microsoft 365-based toolsprimarily using Power Apps, SharePoint Online, and Power Automateto streamline and modernize HQ administrative processes. The initial project is to deliver a comprehensive travel management solution supporting various travel types (TDY, home leave, education, recruitment/separation) and integrating planning, claims, and analytics functionalities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Build and support tools using Microsoft 365 applications (e.g., Power Apps) to enhance HQ administration.
Develop a travel management tool covering TDY, home leave, education, recruitment, and separation travel, with a broader scope including other HQ administrative processes requiring digital transformation, such as HR, business management, and legal.
Create tools for travel planning, maintaining historical travel data, and enabling leadership to analyze travel patterns for military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
Deliver a comprehensive travel management tool by October 2025 to standardize and integrate HQ travel plans for 2026, including PDFs and checklists for travel claims.
Integrate the HQ SACT travel plans into a Power Apps version of the existing travel request system, utilizing SharePoint Online and Power Automate. Expand the travel portal to support travel claims and desk booking functionalities.
Develop automated processes to inform management about staff travel plans regularly.
Investigate the feasibility of integrating travel tools with the NATO Financial System (FinS) via API, supporting development and implementation if viable.
Support HR processes with staff onboarding automation, including developing SharePoint tools, managing the HR workforce plan dashboard, and maintaining existing PowerApps solutions.
Assist business management and legal teams with process automation.
Provide ongoing in-house expertise for automated solutions development.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the COTR related to the labor category.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Microsoft software development/DevOps, or equivalent experience.
At least 3 years in the last 5 developing solutions with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
At least 3 years in the last 5 customizing and developing SharePoint Online solutions.
Experience with API integration on projects.
Experience working within a constrained, dependencies-heavy network environment similar to NATO.
Experience establishing or operating within Power Platform governance frameworks, including environment strategy, security, and DLP policies.
