Shift Supervisor - Melt Shop

Whether you will spend your day brainstorming in an office cubicle, operating a crane, running manufacturing equipment or troubleshooting technical obstacles, at CMC, you'll get the training and support from your team that you need to excel in your role and reach your full potential. Your job will include working to ensure all steel is manufactured to CMC specifications and safely in a timely manner. You will visually inspect the furnace for problems, ensure slag foaming is appropriate, adjust flux additions based on slag analysis to optimize slag chemistry, and work with personnel in the operation, monitoring, and performance of all melt shop equipment. You will communicate with fellow workers and supervisors about possible production issues, concerns, and needs, troubleshoot work-related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with others, and control and replenish the inventory of consumables needed on the operations floor. The minimum requirement for this position is 5 years of mill experience, strong computer skills, ability to read roll and guide drawings, ability to work with a budget, and ability to work in extreme heat. A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience is required.
