Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse - Operating Room Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days, 4x10 Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Current Registered Nurse License in the state of Missouri Certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA only
Must-Have: - 2 years of Level 1 or 2 Trauma Experience. - Scrub and OR Circulator experience.
Description: This position involves performing direct patient care activities for patients of all age groups. The nurse will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Monitoring and coordinating patient care activities with ancillary departments is essential. The role requires working with a team of nurses and surgical technicians for Endo and Open cases. It is important to utilize the nursing process to provide effective patient care. The nurse will maintain professional accountability for the provision of patient care. Evaluating the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers is expected. Coordinating patient care in conjunction with other departments is part of the responsibilities. Maintaining patient rights and confidentiality of patient information is crucial. The nurse will perform duties in a manner consistent with mission, values, and service standards. Skills in human relations and communication are required for this position. Clinical expertise in their area of responsibility is necessary. Candidates should be prepared to stand and walk for most of the shift. The role requires the ability to lift and push patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs. The work environment is usually clean and air-conditioned. Physical demands include pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs., pinching up to 15 lbs., kneeling, crouching, and minimal crawling. This position aligns with high-quality care and patient satisfaction as priorities. Teamwork and collaboration are key components of this role.
